Princess Grace Goes Neutral

Everyday is a good day for a little Grace Kelly, no?!

This is me officially adding something to my "To-Do while living in New York City" list.

The Manhattan House on 66th and 3rd has special meaning to this Grace-Kelly-loving gal because, while many famous people have lived in many buildings in this amazing city, the one and only Princess Grace once lived in this very building in the 1950's.

There was actually an article written by the New York Times circa 1997 that described what her apartment was like and although Princess Grace had one of the most glamorous and interesting lives (in my opinion at least) you'd be surprised to find that her apartment was actually quite simple. According to the article, "The living room was without charm, character or gender...It wasn't ugly; it was utterly bland. Furniture, fabrics and colors alike were all resolutely practical. Everything seemed brown."

While I'd like to think that her NYC apartment was positively chic, it is encouraging to know that such a beautiful and of course naturally graceful woman didn't need to always be surrounded by fabulous, expensive things. And I like to think that maybe, just maybe, she appreciated the peacefulness of neutral tones against the backdrop of such a bright city.

Will share pictures once I visit! :) Have a wonderful day everyone!
