First -- thank you SO MUCH for all of your amazing comments on my "Got the Job" post. It is so fun to hear from you all and your comments are so encouraging and kind. Also, thank you for all of your comments on M.'s "Got the Job" post -- he loved seeing all of the love from you on his first job adventure too!

Well wow! What a whirlwind weekend! Project "Move to New York" is already in full swing. I've already started making the phone calls, wrapping things up at my current job, and packing...oh, the packing. It really doesn't feel like I'll be living in New York in the next two weeks, but in the blink of an eye I will be and there is so much to be finished before I leave DC.

Unfortunately M. won't be coming with me at first. We have to pack up pretty much our entire apartment (although I'm pretty sure we're going to be out of it in 30 days with no penalties -- Hallelujia!) so that M. doesn't have the burden of all of the packing/once our 30 days is up he can find other housing for a little while. In the mean time I'm already on the hunt for a couch to sleep on for about two weeks. I'll be living out of a suitcase, but that's OK. Because we're going to be able to get out of our apartment here so quickly we'll be able to find an apartment in New York sooner than expected. If you have ANY advice on good apartment buildings in either New York (Chelsea area possibly, but all suggestions are welcome!) or the Hoboken area it would be VERY MUCH appreciated. I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a process finding the right place.

I started packing things this weekend. Luckily there was a woman moving in this weekend down the hall from our unit and I promptly begged her to give me her empty boxes when she's done moving in -- thankfully she agreed. I have a big pile of items that I need to bring to the Goodwill (finally getting around to donating things I've had ready to donate for a while), a pile of items that need to be sent back with my mom this week that are items my sister may want for her apartment/post-grad apartment, and then...well...just a pile of stuff!

Not only have we been busy trying to plan and pack, but this weekend we had company! M.'s friend Andrew and his wife Laurie stayed with us this weekend. We enjoyed a few great meals together and yesterday morning we walked over to Eastern Market. They were telling us about their planned trip to the NC State Fair in the next few weeks and when we spotted the "Fried Oreos" at the market we decided that it was necessary to have a "state fair food preview." No one in our group had tried them before so it was the perfect opportunity. I would say for the most part they tasted more like sweet dough than Oreos, but a little chocolate flavor peeks through! :) Please excuse my chippy nail polish in the photo above -- unfortunately, a manicure is just not tops on my to-do list right now! Just to show you I can be healthy, I also picked up a delicious honey crisp apple to enjoy for a mid morning snack. Yum!

Yesterday evening we all geared up and headed off to the Redskins/Colts NFL game! M. was super excited to see Peyton Manning play for the first time even though he's been a fan even before his Tennessee time. The weather for the game was absolutely perfect -- mid 50's and clear. The game actually went by really quickly (past NFL games I've been to have felt a longer) and was a pretty good match up although it seemed like the Colts gave them a lot of room for scoring. LOTOur seats were up high, but we were on the 45 yard line so we had a great view of the entire game. Turns out we must have picked a rowdy spot because there were MULTIPLE fights around us. We couldn't believe what some of the people were saying to each other. M. wore his Colts Manning jersey and I sported M.'s Manning TN jersey. I had some people love the fact that I was wearing an "old school manning jersey" and I had some girls say some pretty nasty things to me. I know it's a game and the rivalry is "all in good fun," but some people take it SO seriously. Pretty entertaining -- I just laughed off most of the ridiculous comments.

So a great weekend spent in the district! Now busy, busy days ahead! Have a wonderful Monday! :)
