The 22nd Day After Birthday Re-Cap

M. completely surprised me the day after my birthday. I worked all day Saturday & when he picked me up I was SO SO tired. I was excited to relax and have a day off on Sunday. We were going to cook that night (although I don't remember what), but by the time we got back to the apartment I told him I wanted to go and get Five Guys burgers instead because I was just too tired to make anything for myself (& I was craving some junk food). I changed into sweat pants and a comfy t-shirt and plopped myself on the couch.

M. told me that his brother had sent me a gift so he wanted to go "check the mail" to see if it made it. He ran out into the hallway & then came back in within a minute or two. He had a concerned look on his face and told me that he needed me to come see something in the hallway. I was so tired this wasn't all registering with me -- so I got up from the couch and walked into the hallway (thinking that M. was going to point out the really cute baby that has just moved in next door). To my GREAT SURPRISE two of my FAVORITE friends (Summer & Laurie) were waiting in the hallway to surprise me!!!! I was SO excited and completely surprised -- It was SO fun.

My friend (& bridesmaid) Summer baked me a fabulous cake & Laurie was on the decorating committee, but it turned out they got to the apartment later than they were supposed to. It was the best surprise!

M. had made reservations at a restaurant downtown (which has its own special story for another day). Dinner was delicious (minus a small incident involving some shrimp), but I mostly enjoyed spending time with my friends! It was so sweet for M. to call them and arrange something. After dinner we all went out for a quick drink & then made our way home.

It was a fabulous evening spent with two of my favorite girls & of course my favorite guy!!!! **And the cake that Summer made was DELICIOUS -- chocolate cake with raspberry filling & a mascarpone frosting! YUM! Thanks again, Summer!**
