It's My Friday!

Yep, it's true. Today is Thursday, but it is serving as my Friday this week. M. and I will be heading to NC this afternoon for a doctors appointment for me tomorrow morning (booooo!) and that last special birthday gift...a cooking class at one of our favorite restaurants in NC (yayyyyyyy!)! Friday evening we'll be having dinner with my parents and then the cooking class...well, more like a cooking demonstration, is during lunchtime on Saturday! I cannot wait to go and try out the delicious menu which includes the following...

A seasonal 'welcome' cocktail, a tasting of a truffle beignet, a first course which is a savory lobster pot de Crème, a second course of crispy potato wrapped short ribs braised in port wine and served with wilted seasonal greens, and finally to top it all off...baked toffee pudding with brûléed banana and butterscotch sauce!!

Can you say delicious?! I can't wait to see the demonstration and get my hands on the recipe cards! Seriously...it's a wonder that I'm not severely overweight. In addition to the fabulous food, the restaurant will also be having fun door prizes so hopefully I'll be lucky that day!

I gave myself a lovely manicure last night with nail polish I picked up at Sephora on my birthday. I picked out one of the OPI for Sephora nail colors in "Metro Chic" and it is the perfect smoky gray color with just the tiniest hint (tinie, tiny, tiny hint) of lavender. I absolutely love it! In addition to the color coat, I had to have a nice shiny topcoat. I've mentioned it on the blog before, but if you haven't ever tried using Sally Hansen's Miracle Cure I highly recommend it (my friend Ashley, the one who just recently got engaged was the one who first introduced it to me when we were living in London together). First off it's cheap, secondly it actually serves as the BEST topcoat because it seals in your color coat and seriously prevents chipping while also making your nails absolutely shine! The key is to apply two coats of the top coat and really let it dry thoroughly (think 30 minutes).

(**No, those aren't my nails, I used Google images to find a photo for you since I was lazy and didn't take one, but the color in the photo is spot on!**)

I hope you all have a lovely weekend...and true Friday!! :)
