My sister C. arrived about an hour later and we enjoyed catching up with her! We had a very relaxed evening of just hanging out and watching TV.
On Saturday we did a little shopping at an outdoor shopping area. It was so nice outside so it was the perfect thing for the morning/early afternoon. The evening we went to see Robin Hood which I thought was really entertaining! A little bit on the long side (they probably could’ve cut out some of the scenes), but overall I was impressed. Russell Crowe really is a great actor!
Yesterday my sister and I ran a few errands around town, we made dinner in the early evening, and then we all went on a nice long walk through the monuments. The weather was so great yesterday, so we had to spend more time outside! Overall it was a great weekend!!
C. is getting excited about starting her second internship in a few weeks at an investment banking company. She told me all about the fun “business” clothing that she picked out while shopping with my mom last weekend. I am really excited for her and I know she'll be a fabulous intern! I still can’t believe how “grown up” we’re getting. C. is going to be a JUNIOR next year! WOW – time seriously flies!
Speaking of time flying – the next few weeks are going to fly by as well…let’s take a look at a quick rundown of the next few weeks…
May 22nd – Drive to NC for M.’s law school graduation (You might be asking, “Doesn’t M. go to Georgetown Law?!” The answer is yes, this year he did go to Georgetown Law, but as a visiting student so he technically still “graduates” from his law school in NC). At 4:00 pm there is a reception where they will present the class gift. After the reception we’re going to grab a quick bite with M.’s family at a local bar and grill (that we LOVE!) and then we’re attending a get together hosted by the wife of a close friend.
May 23rd – M.’s Big Graduation Day! The doors for graduation open at 2:00 pm and everything starts at 3:00 pm! The whole crew will be in attendance – M.’s parents, his younger brother, his sister and her husband, one of his Uncles and Aunts (and their kids), my parents and my sister – well and of course, me! We can’t wait to celebrate his wonderful accomplishment! We’ll be enjoying a celebratory dinner at a delicious bistro (the same one that is doing the food for our rehearsal dinner) that evening and then driving back to DC late, late, late that night.
May 26th – Our invitation response deadline! The responses are certainly trickling in, but we’re hoping for a lot more in the next week and a half! Otherwise it’s time for us to make some phone calls…
May 29th – My bachelorette party! I received “my invitation” the other day and I couldn’t be more excited about spending time with my girlfriends!
June 4th – Flying home to NC for one last weekend of wedding prep with my mom. Hopefully we’ll be able to tie up any loose ends so that we can be completely calm and relaxed the week of the wedding!
June 6th – Fly back to DC.
June 14th – Leave after work to fly home to NC for the wedding! M. will be coming to NC separately (driving) on Thursday morning because he will be taking bar prep classes at George Washington University and we don’t want him to miss too many days!
June 17th-19th – Wedding festivities! :)
It’ll be a busy next couple of weeks, but I am so excited for everything to come! :)
