We slept in on Saturday morning and then decided to try out a new outdoor shopping area. I didn’t buy anything, but M. did find a great deal on a pair of Hugo Boss dress shoes (which he is definitely in need of) at Bloomingdales. We didn’t get home until that evening so we decided to take a late walk (as if we hadn’t already done a lot of walking during our shopping) and we picked up the movies Precious and New Moon (No, I’m not a huge Twilight fan, but I saw the first one and liked it, as cheesy as it was, so we decided we had to see the second one too). New Moon was SUPER cheesy – like, over-the-top cheesy and the main character (girl), I think her name is Kristin Stewart, well, M. and I just wanted to slap her so that she might smile a little bit. Precious was just as I had expected – disturbing. It was a great movie with great acting, but it was very depressing.
Sunday I went down to the gym to do my running and when I came back up to the apartment we decided to take a walk down the National Mall. It was SUPER busy as there were two major rallies taking place – one against the (now passed in the House) healthcare reform and one relating to an immigration bill. We stopped by the Capitol to take part in the healthcare rally – even if I did just stand there and watch – either way, I kind of feel like a part of history now!
Our walk lasted about two and a half hours so by the time I got home I was pretty wiped out. I hadn't put on any additional sunscreen (my daily moisturizer has SPF 15) so I ended up with a very pink nose. Luckily, my Chanel sunglasses are so obnoxiously large that the rest of my face was fine.
My sister and her good friend decided at the last minute to make a quick shopping trip to the DC area so we grabbed dinner with them at a nearby restaurant before they headed back to school.
Overall it was a fun weekend and now I am back to work at the office. Another busy week ahead here before heading home this weekend for wedding work!
I hope you all have a great day!
