Before we left my parents house my mom had an improm
On Monday, M.’s actual birthday I came home from work and took him out to an Italian restaurant in Old Town that he has wanted to try. M. ordered a veal dish and I enjoyed a hearty pasta dish (this was my last day before my workouts began again, so I definitely indulged). The dessert was DELICIOUS and we ate the whole piece, but I had made reservations to take M. out to another fun restaurant for dessert – now you would think that we would have said…”let’s just go another time, we already enjoyed dessert,” but NO WAY – we drove to the next location and were seated at a cozy ta
M. ordered the chocolate lava cake with ice cream and I ordered the “chocolate bar” which was a riff on a kit kat bar – truffle top layer with a crispy bottom layer, surrounded by melted chocolate sorbet and served with malted vanilla ice cream. Um. Wow. This was delicious and I will certainly be heading back for that exact same dessert!
After dessert we made our way back to the apartment. I had already given M. one of his gifts, a Brooks Brother’s shirt that he had noticed a few weeks ago, but yesterday afternoon his real present arrive – a Kindle! He was so excited he opened it even before I got home from work!!
Another great birthday spent together…and many more to come!!!!!
