My Bachelorette Party Recap!

Saturday evening was my bachelorette party and it was such a fun night spent with the most amazing friends. My sister is working in NC so she ended up driving to DC with my friend Kat. They were set to arrive around 1:30 on Saturday so before they got here I finished setting up some of the extra details for the celebration!

I decided to put together a little dessert table for after our dinner out and then I also had some appetizers for before dinner. So Saturday morning I was up early and made my way to our local Trader Joes to pick up some flowers. Of course the color pink was incorporated into my dessert table so I wanted some pretty pink blooms. I was hoping for peonies, but the TJ’s manager told me they would be in the store in the next few weeks. I ended up picking out some gorgeous pale and hot pink tulips. TJ’s has the best prices on flowers and always a great selection – I ended up getting 6 huge bunches of tulips for only $25. When I got home I set up the flowers in the vases that I had placed all around my apartment – I wrapped the vases with different patterned black and white and pink and white ribbon to tie in my pink and black theme.

On Friday evening I made pink chocolate and milk chocolate dipped pretzel rods, pink chocolate dipped marshmallows, vanilla cupcakes, and “scotch-a-roos” (a special family treat!). I also bought those delicious Ghirardelli dark chocolate and raspberry squares, and M & M’s (used only the brown ones of course!) to add to the table.

M. helped me clean the apartment since all of the girls were staying the night at my place. By the time we finished vacuuming everything my sister and Kat were parking their car outside of our place! :)

Unfortunately I didn’t have EVERYTHING prepared for the evening so they helped me finish things up. We iced and decorated all of the cupcakes, made brushcetta, a delicious strawberry and cream cheese appetizer, guacamole, and C. made the pigs in a blanket (M.’s appetizer suggestion).

My friend Jaime arrived soon after and the catching up began! I haven’t seen Jaime for almost two years so we had SO MUCH to talk about! I was so glad that she made the trip for the party – it meant so much to me that she was there! Speaking of making a trip – so did all of my other friends who came for the evening! Lindsay, Laurie, Ashley, Summer and Jamie
all arrived at the same time! We sat down, enjoyed a glass of wine, chatted a little while and then made our way to our dinner reservation downtown.

Dinner served as another great chance to catch up with everyone. We enjoyed some delicious comfort food and yummy martinis.

After dinner we came back to my apartment to my apartment to enjoy a little more wine and so me dessert. I also had the chance to open some presents! My friends all brought some fun lingerie for me to enjoy! :) There were some VERY funny moments (you can tell by the photos above!) all thanks to some racy gifts, but everything was so fun and everyone was so generous.

After the gift opening festivities we made our way out on the town and ended up at a fun bar/club where we had a great time dancing and just hanging out. Unfortunately my sister (and Maid of Honor) isn’t 21 yet so she didn’t come with us – I missed her, but I know we’ll make up for it someday at her bachelorette party! :)

We ended up back home around 4 am and immediately crashed. It was certainly a VERY fun and memorable evening and I had the absolute best time with my friends and bridesmaids and now it’s only 18 days until I am a married woman and I cannot wait! :)

HAPPY (it's already) TUESDAY!!!
