I like this kit because it works very well for day, but it also has that really dark eyeshadow you could add for a smoky look to make it nice for evening too!

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes - $12.99 - the newest addition to the Voluminous family, this defining volume mascara has a collagen-infused formula.  The millionizer brush is designed to thicken every eyelash thanks to multiple long and short bristles that generously envelop the entire length with colour.  They keep you clump free with the special wiper technology on the tube - it adjusts to every bristle wiping the brush free of clumps, giving you the perfect amount of mascara!  I like the sounds of this one - it's going on my shopping list!

Garnier Fructis Blow Dry Perfector - $14.99 - 2 step smoothing kit - tames frizz, stays smooth & silky and easier faster blow dries that lasts up to 7 shampoos.  The kit contains a 20 minute smooth it serum to be followed up by a leave in, heat activated perfect it cream.  Can be used on colour treated hair.  I'm liking this idea a lot!  If you don't have the time or money to have a keratin salon treatment, this might do in a pinch!

Biotherm Biocils - 125ml - $31 - removes 100% of waterproof makeup efficiently while making lashes look longer, stronger and more beautiful.  Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

Paris Hilton Tease - 50ml EDP - $59 - Paris has Marilyn Monroe'd herself to promote her new fragrance with notes that include fuji apple, white peach, bergamot, white flowers, amber, blond wood and hot sand.  I don't much care for the smell but the name does make me laugh - if you do like the fragrance, right now the world's ugliest tote bag comes free with it - black nylon with a giant 3D black plastic flower on the front - I tried hard to find a picture for you with no luck - I wish I had brought my camera with me but alas, you will have to go see it in person - I would say while supplies last, but I doubt that will be an issue...

So it was a year ago now when you were forced to listen to me whine about the new Marc Jacobs fragrance Lola and how much I hated that they had ruined what could have been a really cute bottle by making the big flower on top in rubber - hated it!  Marc Jacobs obviously reads our blog and feels bad about this so to celebrate the first anniversary of Lola, he has pleased me immensely by putting out this special velvet edition - love it!

Lola Marc Jacobs Velvet Edition - 50ml EDP - $79 - same fragrance, much better bottle!  It has top notes of pink peppercorn, pear d'anjoy and ruby red grapefruit, a heart of fuchsia peony with soft touches of rose and geranium and a base of smooth vanilla, tonka bean and creamy musk.  To be honest I didn't think I liked it in the original bottle but I was probably just being pissy about it - this is a fruity floral, but it smells a lot more fruity on me so I'm a fan!  Get it while you can - you'll also find it at Holt Renfrew, The Bay, Sears, Sephora and Murale.
Guess Seductive - 50ml EDT - $69, 75ml EDT - $85 - top notes of zesty bergamot, vibrant blackcurrant and crispy pear, a heart of orange flower, exotic jasmine and florentine orris and a base of warm vanilla, spicy olibanum and musky cashmere wood.  Love the bottle, love the fragrance.  I would wear this scent to seduce Taylor Lautner or maybe go shopping.  It's a little bit fruity, a little bit exotic and a lot sexy!  The department stores will also be carrying a Body Cream - 200ml - $35 and Shower Cream - 200ml - $35 if you like to layer!
Eva by Eva Langoria - 50ml EDP - $63 - top notes of bergamot, citruses, neroli and aldehydes, heart notes of jasmine, freesia, lily of the valley and violet and base notes of musk, sandalwood and amber.  I wanted to like it, I love her character on Desperate Housewives but alas, it's just too floral for my tastes!  If you are a floral kind of girl you might like this one so check it out!
And now that you smell good, let's give the guys a little something:

Pure Nautica - 50ml EDT - $57 - top notes of sea spray accord, mandarin, bergamot, middle notes of ambergris, saffron and lotus flower and base notes of driftwood, suede and patchouli.  This smells really fresh and masculine and is exactly the kind of scent I like to mark my men with.  It's the kind of scent you would notice but not as "what scent is that guy wearing?" but more like "gee that guy smells good"!  There is also a 100ml EDT at department stores for $75 if you like to buy in bulk!

L'Oréal Infallible Le Rouge Lipcolour - $12.99 - luxurious, comfortable and long-wearing that stays fresh and vibrant looking for up to 10 hours without feeling sticky, tacky or dry.  Enriched with Vitamin E for moisture and Ceramide 5 for conditioning it applies evenly on lips and feels completely natural without flaking or fading out.

As a fine haired girl, I can't tell you how hard it is to find a volumizing product that doesn't weigh your hair down and a powder is perfection!  If you've been eying volumizing powders but haven't leaped because of the salon prices, this is your lucky day!
Rihanna Reb'l Fleur - 50ml - $59 - The fragrance is a fruity chypre, composed of sophisticated floral notes: tuberose, violet and hibiscus, with a splash of coconut water, over the light and smooth base, the combination of the final notes evokes the impression of warm skin. It took me a minute to realize that the bottle is designed to look like the heel part of a high heel shoe - there was no tester so I couldn't smell it, so you tell me if it's good!

Our favourite friend has a debut fragrance and if you are anything like me (mean, evil, jaded) you might have thought it would smell like the bitter tears of her many failed relationships, but strangely - it doesn't. It's actually meant to be reminiscent of her beachy California days, floral evenings and nighttime summer bonfire memories. With  top notes of Citrus Grove and Rose Water; middle notes of Blooming Jasmine, Wild Violets and Amazon Lily; and base notes of Sensual Musk, Golden Amber and Sandalwood.

I quite like the bottle but the scent is too floral for my taste - but the floral minded ladies I was with when I smelled it said they liked it - so if floral is your thing, you should give it a sniff!  Just don't expect it to attract decent men!

Jennifer Aniston 30ml EDP is available at Sephora for $40.95 - there are larger sizes available as well.

From S&M to flower girl, Rihanna has softened her image for her first fragrance ad campaign. I haven't tested Reb'l Fleur yet, but I find that name pretty lame. The ad pictures are beautifully shot and you can view them all on folle de beauté.


Rihanna's new video premiered a few days ago and it's a mess: a confusing mix of PVC outfits, lots of skin, and the blogger Perez Hilton on a leash. Yikes. But she's still beautiful and she's still my girl, though!

As a devotee of Project Runway, I am delighted to hear that Heidi is partnering with Coty to develop a new fragrance called Heidi Klum Shine expected to launch fall of this year!  No word on what Shine will smell like but I have faith that Heidi has come up with something good!  Really, is there anything the girl can't do - she has a husband to serenade her (my husband calls Seal, "Hope for men everywhere" I assume on account that he landed Heidi), a passel of kids, a European cosmetic gig, a bunch of TV shows and a line of active wear, I'm exhausted just listing her accomplishments!

I'll get back to you with deets when I hear and I am actually liking the dress she is wearing in this picture, it's kind of strange but really compelling!
