Our Weekend Plans: 8.27-8.29

Happy Friday everyone! This week certainly FLEW by for me and I am so excited we are back to the weekend again!! My boss informed me that two of our key employees here in the office are "sick" today and won't be coming in which means that we're shutting down today at 2! I'm really going to miss these short, short work days when the "fall" comes around and Congress picks up again.

Have you ever seen that adorable Lowe's commercial...the one with the "new homeowners"??! Well, if you haven't, you definitely need to watch it (below) and if you have than you know how cute it is...or at least I think it's really cute..and pretty funny too!! Obviously we're not homeowners yet, but I bet at some point we will encounter some pretty funny results from "home projects" we might work on.

I think my favorite part of the commercial is when the wife is on the phone crying over the "green" paint job -- it reminds me of when my mom and I picked out paint colors for my room when I was a teenager. She reminded me that you should always go one or two shades lighter on the paint chip (those fun color strips you pick up at the paint store) than your desired color because it dries darker than you think and also in a large quantity it takes on a slightly darker color (funny too, we were picking out shades of "citrus green"....but obviously WAY prettier than the color in the commercial!!).

Speaking of "home" projects tomorrow we are going to visit with my family and help move my sister into her new apartment! She's getting ready to start her junior year of college and I can't quite believe it! Just 5 minutes ago she was graduating high school! I can't wait to see her new place and help make things pretty! I will for sure take some pictures to share with you on Monday!

Other than that, we don't have any major plans for the weekend. I want to get a few things done around the apartment (including re-organizing the pantry -- it's a mess!), work on a few personal projects (one which I will share with you next week!), and then spend some time outside! The weather here suddenly turned absolutely beautiful -- low humidity, temps in the low 80's and some days it's been in the 70's! It sure has been great for our evening walks!

Either way, I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend and have the chance to do something fun with the ones you love! :)
