• I’ve decided to change around my workout plan justtttt a little bit. I’m doing the same workouts (running & the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels), but instead of waiting until after work to do the “shred” video I am waking up just 45 minutes earlier every morning (I don’t have to be into work until 9 am which meant that I was able to sleep in until 8:00 am or 8:15 am every morning), around 7:00 am to get “the shred” out of the way. I think it’s good for me to get into a strict schedule of when I wake up every morning. I am a big “consistency” person and it’s important for me to stick to a plan. Either way, now the plan is Jillian before work and (still) running on my lunch break. The nice part of getting all of this out of the way before coming home at night is that I have more time to spend preparing dinner (I really do enjoy cooking!) and I have more quality time with M. Lately, we have been taking walks together in the evenings and after a visit home in a few weekends (at which time we will also pick up our tennis gear) we are going to re-pick up our tennis matches.
• I noticed a comment on my On the Menu: Chicken Cashew Lettuce Wraps post with a reader, Lizzy Loves Lilly wanting to know the measurements for the sauce I used (I guess I really should start posting the recipes that I try out every week). Here’s the breakdown of the sauce: Mix together 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar, 1 Tablespoon brown sugar, 1 Teaspoon Sesame Oil and 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce. Make sure you dissolve the brown sugar and then I also threw in a couple shakes of red pepper flakes!
When you’re making the filling, brown the onions and garlic in about 1 teaspoon of soy sauce. Then once you combine everything together (previously cooked chicken, onion and garlic mixture) then dump on the sauce, thoroughly heat and enjoy! I hope this helps!
• Have you seen photos from Hillary Duff’s wedding photos?! I was mostly intrigued by the “hair-do” that she chose. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. She did carry an absolutely beautiful pale pink, cream and green bouquet that I am just LOVING! The bride wore Vera, of course, a very pretty dress I thought, but I’m thinking that the Zac Posen gown worn by supermodel Coco Rocha (seen to the left) at her early June wedding was also pretty amazing. And hey, hey, hey...both of these beautiful brides chose to wear long, wispy veils. I swear, not that the long veil never went out of style, but they are looking prettier than ever on all of these amazing brides! I LOVE the long veil look.
It’s an amazing thing, wedding trends, but it seems as though the mermaid gown trend is still in full force…although I must say that I’m glad I didn’t go that route. How extra super fabulous would Hilary or Coco’s dresses look in black!? Yum – I love an amazing black dress!
• My parents & sister come back from Spain today!! They’ve sent little snippets of emails here and there and it sounds like they’ve had an amazing time. I’m so sad that M. and I weren’t able to join in on this trip, but I am incredibly excited to hear all of their stories and see all of their pictures!
Until tomorrow! :)
