I still remember the feelings of excitement that I had from that weekend. I literally smile just thinking about all of the wonderful things that went on over those few days. We had the opportunity to spend time with our family and our closest friends and celebrate the love that M. and I share.
Friends and family showered us with love, laughs, and the most wonderful gift - memories that will truly last a lifetime.
The day of our rehearsal was a busy one. I didn't even see M. until our rehearsal time when he came to pick me up from my parents house so that we could ride to the church together. That morning I was up bright and early for a "breakfast with the bride" (recapped HERE) which was simply incredible. The food to the decor to the smiling women all around me - everything was thought out just perfectly. I was in awe over the kindness and generosity of my mom's friends for hosting such a wonderful event. I will certainly never forget that morning.
After the amazing breakfast with the bride my bridesmaids and I whisked off to our next activity, a morning nail appointment. I loved sitting with all of my favorite girls and chatting and laughing at memories from our times together. It meant the world to me that all of my aunts and of course my mother came in to "check on us" (aka: take photos and chat!) to see how everything was going. You can check out the recap of our nail date HERE.
Not too long after that I made my way back to my parents house to change dresses and attend a gorgeous bridal luncheon hosted by a good family friend. Everything was just perfect. Again, from the food to the decor everything was thought out long in advance and planned to perfection. It was gorgeous and I loved spending more time with the most cherished women in my life including almost all of my Aunts, my grandmothers, my mom and sister, my mother in law, and all of my gorgeous and supportive friends. I cherish that afternoon so much and wish so badly that I could go back in time to do it all over again!! Check out the recap HERE!
Finally it was time to relax a bit....in the chair at my hair dresser's serene salon!! Really, it was serene. Nice and quiet and perfect for the hour that I was there. I just sat back and let Joselin do his magic on my hair and then I went home, changed yet again (into the lovely pink Milly number) and then waited for my future husband to pick me up!
I was so excited to see M. after a day of "girl time", after all, we were getting MARRIED the following day! The rehearsal was really lovely and quite fun. We laughed and smiled and we both just couldn't wait to be married!
Our rehearsal dinner was even better than I could have expected. Not only was everyone who we wanted to be there at the dinner, but we had the opportunity to show the fun video that I had worked so hard to put together (with the help of my fabulous M. and of course the filming skills of my amazing sister) (SEE IT HERE if you missed it...and don't forget to turn up the volume!!) and in the biggest surprise of all, our entire bridal party each got up individually and told the group how they first met each of us and something amazing (and almost all were funny) about what it was like once we had met, started dating, etc. Seriously - it was incredible and one of my favorite memories from the weekend.
In addition, my mom gave a wonderful toast which included presenting my now husband with a bag of hot dog buns she had saved (frozen of course) from the night that M. came over to ask for my hand in marriage (she joked that she "knew what he was going to ask" and "not to be surprised if she only made hot dogs for the occasion" instead of the normal amazing meals my mom prepares), my grandma-in-law gave a sweet speech, and my fabulous husband stole the show with his amazing toast honoring his sweet grandfather and well...at the end, me!
I loved every moment of that evening and soaked everything in as best as I could. I'm wishing right now I could close my eyes and do everything over again just the way it happened this time last year.
We're celebrating our amazing marriage and our first year spent together this weekend, starting with a fun dinner out tonight. Gifts will come tomorrow night - I can't wait to share with you the gift that I purchased for my amazing husband!
I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend spent with someone you love! :)
