On Our Wedding Day: A Letter to M.

Dear M.,

Today we will make the most amazing promise to one another to always love and care for each other. As I sit here and reflect on our relationship and the different paths that we have walked together I can’t help but think back to our very first date. Neither of us probably ever expected an evening of pizza and a movie to turn into a lifelong commitment to one another – I certainly wasn’t expecting it! That handshake that I thought was super awkward and gossiped about to all of my girlfriends turned out to be the best thing that could ever happen to me.

Our relationship has been absolutely blissful – that’s not to say that we’re perfect – and we certainly don’t pretend to be, but I love that we work together as a team, as equals. You make me feel like the most special woman in the world. You take the time to listen to the things that I have to say even when they’re far from important and you bring me more and more joy each coming day. You take the time to consider the little things and you always put me first. You’re the most intelligent person I know and everyday you teach me something new about life – your passion for excellence is outstanding. Your love of family and of life is inspiring.

I know that today when I walk down the aisle to meet you at the altar I will be marrying the
man that God has chosen for me. I want you to know that I will always be here for you through smooth sailing and stormy weather. I will take your hand today and vow to you to never let go. I will always be here for you in any way that you need me whether that be wife, best friend, cheerleader and ultimate supporter, or just a shoulder to lean on. The love that we share is my most prized possession and I vow to never let you forget this.

I am SO excited to begin our “new” lives together and tonight I will finally be able to call you husband! Who knew one little handshake could change my life forever?

Meet you at the altar handsome!

I love you!

-- Your A.
