My obsession with bathing leads to me getting through rather a lot of bath foam. My all time favourite is by Soap and Glory, and it sets a high benchmark; moisturising, gently scented, and very long lasting, which is essential for a two hour long soak.
I popped into Superdrug recently and found this Lula Bloom bath foam, which cost a very reasonable £4.99 for 350ml of product. I'll admit I was attracted first by the pretty pink hue and the utterly girlie but non-sugary floral graphic on the bottle.
As I poured a good glug into the bath, I was immediately struck by the fairly strong, but utterly delicious fragrance. This isn't really a subtly scented product but it is a very inoffensive scent - it smells fresh, fruity, and not overly sweet. To me, it comes across as mostly apple based, but as the ingredients include grapeseed oil, I think there's a note of grape in there too. It's definitely refreshing.
The product description describes this foam as moisturising due to the grapeseed oil and Vitamin E content. I wouldn't really agree with that; my skin felt clean and soft, but not noticeably more moisturised. The biggest let down for me is the lasting power of the bubbles. After a scant half hour, the bubbles had all but disappeared.
All in all, this is a pretty serviceable bubble bath with a really lovely refreshing scent, but it's not really something you'd use for a very long relaxing soak. I expect I'll keep using it when I'm looking for a quick bathing fix, but I doubt I'd repurchase. My quest for more near-perfect bubble baths continues!
If you'd like to try it for yourself, you can get it from
Superdrug at £4.99 for 350ml.
