First off, thank you for the sweet comments about “March for Me”. I’m planning on creating a little button this evening so that we can all post about our “March for Me” activities, I will be sure to post it tomorrow so you all can use it too! I really hope that you’ll all hop on the bandwagon with me and treat yourselves this month by doing something good! If you missed the post, check it out HERE.
Some days are just “Best” days and yesterday was certainly one of those days for me. Let me tell you about my day yesterday…
I woke up at 5:30 and headed off to the gym to hit the treadmill before work. I got in 5.5 miles and, even if this might be a little bad, I felt SO GOOD about the fact that I was finishing my workout as four other people were stepping on the treadmills to start theirs. I’m not completely there yet, but I’m starting to enjoy getting my mileage in early in the morning!
After my great run I got ready for work and headed off for my day. I got a ton of work done in the morning, switched gears into “meeting mode” and then a lovely email popped into my inbox from one of my co-workers. She wondered if I wanted to get out of the office for lunch with her and another co-worker. OF course I did! It was so fun to hang out with some really nice woman and get a little bit of fresh air too. Also, yesterday in the city was relatively warm too, so you can’t beat that! :)
After our lovely lunch I returned to the office only to find out that I had won the lovely Pink Champagne’s Lilly Pulitzer scarf giveaway! How awesome is that?! I always love re
ading Pink Champagne’s blog (check it out HERE if you haven’t ever read) and I am crazy excited to receive this lovely scarf in the mail – the perfect piece for spring! :)
The rest of the day at work was spent tying up loose ends on projects and tidying up my workspace (I finally had some time to organize my desk drawers). When I arrived home I was ready to get a quick workout in and then have a little dinner with my husband. Before I could get started on that workout though, to my surprise, my husband asked if I would sit on the couch and close my eyes. Of course I did although I must admit I was a little scared of what might be coming next. I heard him rustle around a little bit in the bedroom and the next thing I knew he told me to open my eyes and right there in front of me was a box from Boden!
My sweet husband saw that I had a saved shopping cart on one of my computer
internet windows and proceeded to order me everything on my list (except for a pair of sandals he deemed not necessary for $100 – haha!) last week as a surprise for how hard I have been working. Seriously – I was SO SURPRISED! Isn’t that just the nicest thing?!?! M. has done many sweet things for me in the time that we have been together, but this is one that is at the top of the list – AMAZING. He knew just how much I had been admiring those spring clothes and spoiled me rotten. I’m the luckiest girl – not just because my husband did something super sweet, but because he’s always so thoughtful and strives so hard to make me a happy girl. I’m lucky.
So check out the adorable pieces he ordered for me! This pink and orange dress is OH SO cute for spring/summer and I love that I’ll be able to wear it to work. It can be dressed up with some great heels and pretty enamel jewelry or dressed down with a cardigan and espadrilles. I also love the cotton sateen fabric and the fun pattern!
Next he ordered both of the sweaters that I had in my cart! A
hot pink number with the most adorable “tabs” around the neckline and also a super preppy blue and white number, which just as the model is shown wearing, will look amazing with a pair of white cropped jeans and some pearls or chunky gold jewelry.
Finally he picked up a fun patterned skirt. He actually ordered the color I wanted (it’s the chartreuse and gray combination), but I love that I’ll have something bright and cheery to pull out as the weather starts to warm up!
We finished our evening with two episodes of LOST. I am absolutely LOVING this show and I can’t believe I didn’t start watching it when it first came out! We have the last episode of season two to watch and then we’ll be moving on to season three!! I can’t wait to see what happens.
So that is my wonderful day that I just had to gush about. Now back to it – I’ve got an event tonight at work and I’m loving my outfit today – sleek black dress, black tights and black heels with a gray fur “rose” pom pom on the toe. Fabulous!
