C. Visits Washington - - Thursday - Monday

Isn't it just crazy how time flies?! I haven't posted for a few days because my little sister C. has been here for a visit! It's so fun when you have visitors because you get to play everyday (even the work days!!!) C. arrived on Thursday evening so M. & I cooked our favorite Florence, Italy inspired pasta -- it was quite delicious & the leftovers have been serving as the perfect snack for C. during the days while I am at work!

On Friday I went to work & then came home to meet M. & C. before leaving for dinner. We decided to try a new place in Old Town that has southern inspired food -- C. & I shared a fab. plate of fried green tomatoes -- YUM! It was still early after we finished dinner (even though it was pitch dark!) so we headed back to the apartment for a little bit & then headed over to Georgetown to find something to enjoy for dessert. We strolled the little streets & decided on a little ice cream (I had festive peppermint bark!). Ok, enough talking about food...

Saturday we decided needed to be spent shopping so we headed back to Georgetown for a full day of in-&-out of stores. First, we stopped for a burger at Z-Burger (above you can see a cute picture of M. & C. at Z-burger!) which is very similar to Five Guys & after lunch we started the shopping. We went to all of our favorites -- Anthropologie, J.Crew, Intermix, Vineyard Vines, Karen Millen, Banana Republic -- & a few new stores too! C. & I really liked this pink & green house in Georgetown (so preppy!) so we decided to stop & take a quick picture (you can also see the cute lime green bug in the background -- so coordinated!).

We decided we needed a break so we came back to the apartment & relaxed. After lounging around we made one last shopping attempt out at Tyson's Galleria -- Neiman's & Saks were our destination -- C. & I loved looking at the designer shoes! :) We decided to eat dinner at the Cheesecake Factory since it was right in the mall -- and of course we had to take a few pictures while we were waiting for our table.

After dinner we came back to the apartment & crashed! We were all so tired from trekking around Gerogetown all day. C. was so tired that she couldn't even pull her boots off by herself...she needed my assistance, clearly.

Sunday was a relaxed day. We woke up late, cooked bacon & egg english muffin sandwiches for breakfast, & went on our weekly grocery run. After the grocery store C. & I went off on our own for a bit to Old Town to stop by a few boutiques. We also made a quick stop at the Lavender Moon Bakery where we enjoyed cupcakes! The bakery makes one of my favorite flavors -- orange dreamsicle (an orange vanilla cupcake with blood orange cream cheese frosting) & C. had a S'mores cupcake (which was also quite yummy!).

We made our way back home to see M. & to gear up for our afternoon walk to the monuments. We walked up by the Capitol & to the Washington Monument, but we forgot how early it gets dark now so we made our way back after that. We got a few really cute pictures though!

Tomorrow after work we are headed to the Kennedy Center (M. & my fav!) to see a performance of the Nutcracker. It's rumored that Vice President Joe Biden & his wife will be in attendance...I'll let you know if we encounter the duo!

I hope everyone had a fab. Monday!! Thanksgiving is so close I can taste it! Yay for time at home with family! :)
