BUST-ed

Oh I am so super happy that today is Friday! I have so many fun things planned for this weekend...including spending the entire day on Saturday with my husband looking at new apartments! Maybe that doesn't sound super fun to most of you, but I always love the idea of getting to decorate all over again - even if it is with all of the same stuff I already have! Hopefully we'll find some keepers...keep your fingers crossed for us!

So maybe you're wondering about the title of this post today? Today I wanted to post about using a BUST as a decorative accessory...yes, a bust like you find in an art museum. :) One of the great things about New York are all of the sample sales, antique stores, and flea markets. In fact, if we weren't shopping for apartments all day Saturday, I may actually swing by the flea market nearby for a little browsing since I have a couple of projects in mind that could use some old finds...but in any case, the other day I picked up this little beauty for a mere $5. Yes, five bucks! A bust for bucks! Ok - I'm done. This piece is SUPER heavy too - nothing "cheapy" (aside from the fact that I bought it for 5 bucks) here!

I knew that I wanted to snag the piece right when I saw it because not only do I think it's the perfect size for a home accessory, but I also like the idea of displaying it on a pretty tray and hanging my pearl necklaces on it. This weekend I am going to try re-vamping a tray that I already have (will post on the blog if all goes well!) and then hopefully my little display dreams will all come true!

Aren't these examples of what people have done with busts pretty?!

What do you guys think of my flea find?! Do you have any other ideas for how I should use this pretty piece?

Happy Friday! Thank goodness the weekend is here!!!!
