It’s been a LONG weekend. Actually, it’s been a long two weeks – feels like it’s been non-stop for a while. After returning home from my friend’s wedding (which I STILL need to recap) I enjoyed a super fun long weekend with my mom celebrating my birthday which was followed by this past week, a fun time spent with M.’s uncle who stayed with us while he was studying for a work certification at his company’s New York location. In addition, my weekend was spent, or rather my Saturday was spent coordinating a wedding in Brooklyn. Yep – more on that in a second.
So the last two weeks have been a blur of eating, lounging, shopping, planning, and all the while being crazy busy at work. I’m ready for a little break, but I don’t think it will be coming any time soon. The travel over the next few months will only increase (lot’s of little trips here and there and of course THE HOLIDAYS!) and so will the work projects and other home projects. I cannot believe that this is the last week of September!
So on to the fun from this weekend! I coordinated my very first wedding held at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and let me just say, this wedding was GORGEOUS! I was thrilled to be a part of the bride’s big day, a behind the scenes part of course, but nonetheless, it was a wonderful experience and really hope to do a little more event planning/coordination in the future.
Having been a June bride and having a worry-less week-before-the-big-day with the weather reports showing up with absolutely no rain in sight, this poor bride had a little more stress thrown her way with a day-before the wedding monsoon and a day of the wedding uncertain decision to make regarding whether the ceremony would be held outdoors or not. By some act of God the rain actually held off ALL DAY (even though the clouds were looking pretty angry) and her ceremony was beautiful outside in the gardens. Luckily the couple’s reception was planned for indoors so there was no worry there and everything looked absolutely spectacular...don't you think?? Setting up for an event like that is quite a process, but SO fun.
I’m in the process of getting things organized around the house again, and it looks like I’ll have to make a little more room in my closet since as a “job well done” present to myself after working the wedding this weekend, I picked up this pair of blue (well, really more teal) suede shoes. You'll never guess where I got them....Talbots! I already know a few outfits I want to wear them with!
Until next time! :)
