Favorite Fall Recipe: Apple Crisp

I love this delicious Fall inspired dessert. It's the apple crisp that my mom always makes...& now I make too! The dessert makes your house (or in my case, my apartment) smell amazing & the buttery, sugary topping is the perfect compliment to the tart apples. LOVE!

Mom's Apple Crisp

7-8 Large apples, peeled & sliced (Use Granny Smith [my fav.] or Mackintosh)
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Mix apple slices with sugar & cinnamon. Pour this mixture into a 9x13 baking pan.

For the topping:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup Quaker Oats
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt

Mix the above dry topping & pour on top of apple slices. Thinly (but not too thin -- the more butter the better!) slice one stick of butter, placing butter all over the top of the dry topping.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.....Hey, I didn't say it was low fat!

I like to eat mine with a healthy scoop of Breyers "Heath Bar" ice cream.....annnndddd I'll be on the treadmill tomorrow. :)

Hope you had a fabulous day!
