Choosing my wedding cake design was actually more difficult for me than choosing my wedding dress, but it's finally all picked out (good thing too, because we're getting married on Saturday!)! There are so many beautiful and fun cakes, but because of my complete dislike of fondant I ended up with a cake that is relatively simple, but still pretty beautiful (at least I think so!). Here is the design that we chose! Sorry that this scan is not super high-quality. Our cake won't be this peachy-orange color, it will be white, but we will have the FULL, beautiful flowers between the tiers (again, the color of the flowers will differ from this photo). We're also adding a monogram to the cake!
The flavors of the tiers will be Strawberry Cream Torte (layers of white cake filled with fresh strawberries, strawberry jam, and vanilla buttercream) and Margaritaville (my pick, surprise, surprise -- Moist yellow cake soaked with a sweet tequila laced syrup, brushed with lime curd, filled with orange buttercream and iced with white buttercream)
I absolutely LOVE our baker and I know that his creation will be beautiful! Tonight I am finishing up some follow ups with a few of our vendors and packing my bags for NC -- I fly home tomorrow evening!!! I can't believe the wedding is really ALMOST here! My fiancee and I have been absolutely giddy!
