Can you tell what I spend my time doing now? :) This shop has some fantastic jewelry...
like these pearlesque beauties:
Now, they're not actually pearl. "Premium celluloid" according to the package. Guitar pick earrings, just like the rock and roll earrings I shared over at twelve crafts till christmas this weekend, without the washer. These picks are so gorgeous all by themselves, with the shimmery gold writing.
Earrings are my favorite thing in the universe... okay, maybe not THE favorite, but they definitely make the top 5. So I made myself a pair special for today, because we all know we want to look fantastic on our birthdays. And I made an extra for one of y'all... because it's just as much fun to give as to receive. :)
Love 'em? Want 'em? Enter to win 'em by leaving me a comment on this post.
One extra entry for spreading the word (via Facebook, Twitter, or your blog) or grabbing my button (over there to the right -->).
Giveaway closes Friday, Oct. 29 at 12 noon MDT. Winner chosen randomly and announced... sometime after that... :)
And, you can still hop over to twelve crafts and enter to win one of three pairs of my rock and roll earrings, too.

Have you noticed these little lovelies up in the header image? Yup, they've been up there for several months now... so it's about time that I share how to actually make them!
I'm sharing the tutorial today over at one of my favorite blogs, twelve crafts till christmas, and this morning I'm also teaching a group of women from church how to make them. It's a rock and roll earring fest! So click on over to twelve crafts for Stuff Your Stocking Saturday to learn how to make them, and enter to win one of these three pairs:

The good folks over at CraftGossip are hosting yet another fantastic giveaway: win your own Christmas gift. Anything from anywhere, up to $150 purchase and $20 shipping. Woohoo!
So... what to choose? Well, remember how I'm a runner? I'm kind of a slow runner. I'd like to be faster, but that requires some training, running timed intervals to increase my pace and such. And that training would go so much more smoothly if I had one of these:
It's a Garmin Forerunner 350. Say what? It's a fancy-schmancy portable GPS watch unit for runners. It will do just about everything a runner needs, except for tie your shoes. (Although that feature may be included in the fancier, schmancier 450 model... for only twice the price.)
Once you've gone through the intense work of tying your shoes, the 350 takes over from there. You can run or bike indoors or outdoors and it will track your pace, compare your pace to your previous excursions on the same route, and even alert you if you drop below or go above your targeted pace. It can also monitor your heart rate and tell you how many calories you've burned. And then it will scrub your kitchen sink.
So... that's what's on my Christmas list. At least the electronics section... ;)

Remember my etsy wishlist for the CraftGossip giveway a bit ago? And remember how I told you that it was MY giveaway to win? And how I was letting the power of positive thinking work for me?
It worked! I won!
Told you so. ;)
I think my mail carrier must think that I have an online shopping addiction (which may or may not be true... when I have the budget for it...) because the packages have been pouring in. One day my little house-side mailbox was stuffed full: one mailing tube, one small package, and three big envelopes. I should have taken a picture but I was far too excited about opening the packages to document the moment. :)
The spoils of my positive thinking:
Plus these little red beauties that I've been wearing practically since the moment I opened the package:
And these fantastically wonderful charms that came later (since they shipped from Singapore!):
And, to make good things better, the people at CraftGossip have been awesome work with. There was a problem ordering one of the items on my list, so they let me choose another item, no muss, no fuss. (They have several other giveaways going on now, too, if you want to check them out on their giveaways page.)
I've always loved CraftGossip because they save me the work of following every creative blog in the blogosphere by, essentially, doing it for me. Now I just have more reasons to love them. :)
I'm not greedy, so I'll be sharing some of my spoils to spread the CraftGossip love. Stay tuned for that...
And, it's Wednesday, so I'm over at Housewife Eclectic today too. Come learn some of the background and basics of HTML. Nothing scary, I promise. :)

Have you heard of the Silhouette?
It's a personal electronic craft cutter. Think Cricut. Only better. Here's why it's better:
- NO CARTRIDGES TO BUY. This alone is reason enough for my belief that it is better, but I will keep going. Continue to item #2...
- I can use any font in my computer library -- and I have hundreds of fonts because I loooove me some non-standard fonts -- to cut paper, vinyl, heat transfer paper, and more.
- It connects right to my computer. For a tech-crafter like me (thanks to Elizabeth at twelve crafts for making tech-crafting an official word), that is a big deal. This is also important to item #2, which is important to item #1, which is the most important of all.
- Silhouette has a huge library of inexpensive (think $1) digital designs to download and use.
- A training course. online.
In the above title, please hear the Tony the Tiger Frosted Flakes kind of "GRRRREAT!"
Have you ever found a blog that just feels like home? Every post you think, "Amen to that!" or "Gee whiz, what a great idea!" or "Why didn't I think of that because that is an amazing idea?" You feel like if you ever met this author, you would be great friends. You can't help but tell everyone you know about this blog.
For me, this blog is twelve crafts till christmas.

I love everything that Elizabeth, the brains behind the twelve crafts, does. I love the basis of her blog (hand-crafting all the gifts for Christmas 2010, one project per month). I love her writing style and her honesty--read her note on blogging manners in the left sidebar for an example. I love her true confessions and her newest weekly feature, Monday's Buttons, which I sincerely wish I had thought of first because it's not only great, but it's unique. This list could continue, but I'll stop there. The most accurate way to describe our relationship is probably idol worship, but since that's creepy (and also a sin), we'll call us blog-friends instead. Because, yes, she replies to comments. The perfection never ends.
Anyway... the point is, go take a look at twelve crafts till christmas. To add to the regular goodness, she's hosting a $30 CSN giftcard giveaway.

Everyone should check out the TWELVE giveaways at Where Women Create! I just found this site and I really like it. And I'm entering about a thousand giveaways in hopes that the Christmas spirit will mean that I win one... :)
Grosgrain is one of my favorite blogs. I wish I could do everything that she does. But even more than that, I wish I could win at least one thing from all of these giveaways. :) The more I see vinyl on just plain walls, the more I love it. Once I convince our landlord to let us give our walls a fresh coat of paint, I might just think about decorating that way. So, I'd love to win this vinyl giveaway from First Step Photo.
