Bentley really loves the kids in our neighborhood and the littlest ones the
best. So I decided to create a pumpkin just for Bentley to greet the little ones
up the stone steps leading to our cottage door.
Just a cheerful boo from Bentley!

Come on Bentley ~ we are going to show your Grandma all of the
Halloween decorations in our neighborhood.

Susan and Bentley
My neighbor Inga is such a talented artist. She lives in the tiniest little cottage you ever
did see. Her cottage garden is tiny too, but everywhere you look, there is
something that will delight you!
Like this inspired scarecrow. Adorable!!!
I am linking up to
for more seasonal delights!
Bentley ~ the weather is so beautiful, let's go for a nice long walk
tomorrow and take lots of pics of the neighborhood!

Susan and Bentley
It is shaping up to be one of those perfect fall days when I don't
want to miss a minute by staying indoors.
Let's grab a wicker picnic basket and fill it with goodies and spend
some time outdoors renewing our spirits!

Come on Bentley lets get your Daddy and the three of us will have
fun outside all day! Wouldn't it be fun if our blogging friends could
join us?

Good Morning Sunshine!
Are you ready for some breakfast out on the deck?
It's not too hot yet, just perfect for sleepyheads.
Would you like some steel cut oatmeal?
I love the flavor and texture of this long cooking oatmeal ~
yum!
How about a cup of coffee from this cute little vintage perculator?
How do you like your coffee ~ black, cream, cream and sugar?
I remember when I lived in NYC ~ a "regular coffee" was coffee
with cream, but I personally take mine black.
I love these blue transferware dishes. It's Avondale by Royal
Staffordshire. The pattern just makes me smile!
Enjoy your coffee while I get your oatmeal. Bentley will entertain
you with some of his toy flinging tricks.
Joining ~
Stop back later this evening. We will be serving summer
cocktails.

Susan and Bentley
I took these pics last spring. We had such a cool wet spring and
it seemed that summer would never come to Idaho.
But it did finally arrive. Although we have had some hot temps,
it seemed cooler than the previous summer. So much cooler that I never
felt the need to put the bikini top on my Jeep.
Now August is half over and there is only one more week of summer
vacation for the kids in my neighborhood. Soon I'll be thinking of the
glorious days of September and October. Football games, sweaters, tail
gate parties at BSU. Getting out the fall decorations and deciding on
which pumpkins to purchase for the front porch.
Time goes by so fast! Now when I look at this pic of a blossom
from my snowball bush, it seems like just yesterday I was longing for
summer.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Stop by and visit ~
Okay Bentley ~ let's get ready to visit Grandma!

Hot summer days and too much work brings on the desire to kick back
So ...
I have come up with the Relaxation Equation
PJ's + Fuzzy Slippers + Milk and Cookies + A Cozy Spot =
Napping on a Sunday Afternoon
Works for me!
I am joining
Bentley ~ Do you need a nap too? I thought you might!

A few years ago David and I went to Bandon, Oregon and
rented a house on the beach. Well, 80 feet above the beach as
all of the beach front houses seem to be. We went so that David
could play golf at Bandon Dunes. I was happy to walk with Bentley
up and down the miles of seemingly endless beach each day.
One evening on the balcony David took these pics of the sunset.
We were mesmerized by the beauty.
The stillness. The peace.
The sun always seems to sink so fast over the ocean.
While Tony Bennett may have left his heart in
San Francisco ....
I have left mine in Bandon.
(No, there is only one moon, don't know what happened there.)
Join me in visiting
Bentley ~ you met lots of doggie friends on that beach
didn't you! Now go give your Daddy a big kiss because
it's his birthday!
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Bentley ~ I think I want to watch those movies again.

We love our winter sports in Idaho ...
so here is a Sun Valley theme cloche in honor of the 1941 movie ...
Sun Valley Serenade.

I used a Pottery Barn lantern for a cloche
a good place to tuck in a snowman,
a pair of skis and a winter sweater.

Can't wait to get out the real Susan size skis!!
In the meantime I am linking up to:
Bentley you can come sledding with us and
we can take you for a sleigh ride too!

Whatever you decide, I'll be happy to whip it up for you!
After breakfast, we can visit The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday.
You can come too Bentley!!! Yes, I know ... you'll be happy with anything
your Momma decides to make.
Love,
Susan and Bentley
